What is the best reptile to have as a pet?

i would say that since you don't want something too big get a leopard gecko or some kind of gecko because they aren't tiny tiny, they like to be handled and they don't grow to be HUGE like a tegu or bearded dragon, but Beardies are very cool and calm. it depends on how big you are allowed to get, if you want something that is very tame and you want to hold it lots or if you just want it to look at. but yeah i'd say a leopard gecko or bearded dragon (:
