Why is my mother a self sacrifising people pleaser?

When your mother was young, she had a moody, dominant parent and when ever she came into contact with this parent she had to gauge and judge there mood to appease them. Now she is an adult she has no control over this habit, she is lost and was lost years ago because she was not able to form her own personality so she seeks herself through pleasing others as she please her parent.
